Badminton: Push With the Palm for Better Forehand Serves

Dick Moss, Editor

Try this coaching cue for students who are having trouble with the short forehand serve.

Make sure they grip the racquet so their palm lies on the wide side of the handle. Then instruct them to focus on pushing the shuttle over the net with the palm of the hand.

Many beginners have difficulty feeling a connection with the racquet head. Focusing on the palm makes it easier for them to feel the correct movement.
