1. Editor's Note

Well, some of the holiday hustle will have ended, and now it's time to recover a bit...before the New Year's festivities. And what better way to recover than to read a PE Tips of the Week Newsletter! So cozy up in front of the fire with your laptop (and wireless internet connection), and settle in for a relaxing read (hey, it's better than shoveling snow).

2. From the Web

While figure skating isn't part of the curriculum of most physical education programs, it is holiday time and you're sure to see the sport on many television channels. And it definitely is a physical activity. So, I thought I'd highlight a figure skater with a sense of humour. It's amazing what you can do with a few props.

By the way, it's a little racy (although not profane), so don't watch if you think you might be offended by a figure-skating bodybuilder in a thong. The skating is good though!! The video is 3:48.

Here's the link to Evgeni Plushenko's bodybuilder-on-skates program.

    5. Pick of the Week

Each week, I'll highlight an article that I think is really useful. The article will be available to non-members of the website for a week, and to members forever!

This week's pick is: "Coaching - Captain's Council Versus a Team Captain"

Not every team needs or wants a team captain. But if you can't award a captaincy, how do you reward the athletes who take a leadership role on your team. To find out, click on the link below:
