Training-Room Tips: Over-Icing Increases Inflammation
Icing is an effective way to prevent swelling and reduce inflammation in soft tissue injuries.

But only if you don't ice for too long. Over-icing can elicit a survival response in the body's cells that produces EXTRA inflammation.

To make sure this doesn't happen, don't let your athletes ice longer for than 15-20 minutes at a time.
