Hockey: Check Open Teammates Before Receiving a Pass

Dick Moss, Editor, PE Update.com

Want to teach your players to be great passers? Before an incoming pass arrives, instruct them to quickly scan the ice to locate open teammates.

Your players will then be able to make an instant pass. The alternative is to receive the puck, scan for an open teammate, then make the pass. This takes longer, and the opportunity to hit an open teammate may already have disappeared.
