1. Editor's Note

As always, this issue of Fun Stuff for PE contains excellent free content. There's a link to a website showing video of soccer players - during games - employing some really amazing moves; our blog discussion on why PE teachers often make the best academic teachers; and an article from the archives about a fundraiser that involves crazy hats.

And for PE Update members, here's what we've added to the website since the last issue of Fun Stuff: an article on how to convert your schoolyard into a winter mini-golf course; a hockey drill that teaches players how to pass off the boards; a study on ice therapy that shows that intermittent icing is most effective; an article and video on a cross-country skiing drill that develops better balance; and finally, a mental trick for improved golf putting.

While this newsletter is free, most of the content on PE Update.com is for members-only, including instructional videos, the discussion group, over 2000 articles that you can read, print and email... and much more.

2. From the Web

SOME COOL SOCCER TRICKS
What makes elite soccer players different from the average Joe? The hours spent with a ball, bouncing off every part of their body, using it like a hacky sack until they can move it around their body any way they want. It might seem like wasted time to some of your players, but this video will show them some of the game applications of having this type of ball sense etc.

It's also a good way to demonstrate some very cool soccer moves.
