Soccer: Beat the Clock Game

Dick Moss, Editor, PE Update.com

Beat the Clock is a fun game that emphasizes passing, ballhandling, aggressive defense and good decision-making.

Setup
Divide your class into two teams and provide each team with a set of pinnies. Give Team A a ball for each player, and place them inside a 30 x 30 metre (yard) grid. Team B stands on the perimeter of the grid.

How to Play
On your whistle, players from Team B run into the playing area and attempt to kick the balls out of the grid. Any Team A players who lose their ball become support players for teammates by making themselves available for a pass.

Time how long it takes for Team B to kick all the balls out of the grid. Then have the two teams switch roles. The team with the fastest time wins.
