Nutrition: Frozen Fruit Goodies

Dick Moss, Editor, PE Update.com

Looking for snacks that are nutritious, refreshing and so easy to make that even I could do it (if I could remember the recipe)?

Have your students chop up some fruit: bananas, watermelon, cantaloupes: or use whole grapes or strawberries. Then place them on a tray and put them in the freezer for an hour.

Once frozen, they can be eaten right away or stored in baggies in the freezer.

These snacks are highly nutritious and tasty—the frozen bananas taste very much like banana ice cream. They can be used to make delicious shakes by popping them in the blender with milk, juice or yogurt. You can even keep them cool for lunch or a workout by storing them in a thermos.
