Lacrosse: The Wrist Snap Drill to Avoid Pushing the Ball When Passing

Dick Moss, Editor, PE Update.com

Beginning lacrosse players often use a weak pushing action when they pass the ball, resulting in poor velocity and accuracy. This usually occurs because they aren't snapping the wrist of their top hand (the hand that's highest on the stick) on release of the ball.

Wrist Snap Drill
You can show the importance of wrist snap by having your players practice passing with only their top hand on the stick. Have two players stand several feet apart. As they pass the ball, be sure they shift their weight from the back to the front foot, then snap the wrist forward and down as they release the ball.
