Promotion: Use Other Sports Events to Promote Your Team

Dick Moss, Editor, PE Update.com

Football and basketball are the school sports that usually attract the biggest crowds. So rather than bemoan the fact that your sport doesn't receive as much attention, use the crowds at these games to promote your own lesser-known team.

If you have a good relationship with your coaching colleagues, have your team results announced at their football and basketball games, along with the time and location of your next competition.

You could also set up demonstrations during half-time. For example, a quick volleyball game, wrestling match or running race. You may even be able to place your team's photo and competition schedule in the football and basketball programs.
