Soccer: The Moving Goals Drill

Pat Aitken

You can use this drill as a warm-up activity with your students before they stretch, or as a leadup game later in the practice.

It will encourage your players to dribble the ball, make accurate, low passes, and get themselves into position to receive a pass.

How to Play
Divide your class into two teams and designate one or more pairs of students to be shirt-holders (who don't play for either team). You can use one or more balls.

On your whistle, the shirt-holders move randomly about the playing area, while players attempt to pass their ball beneath a shirt to a teammate. Each successful pass counts for one point.
