Cross-Country Skiing: Skiers With Balance Problems Can Hang On to the Handle

Cross-Country Skiing: Skiers With Balance Problems Can "Hang On to the Handle"

Pat Aitken

If you have beginning skiers who are nervous on their skis or just can't get their balance, have them hang onto a pole held by two other skiers.

This will give them a stable, steady “handle” to hang onto, and a real sense of security.  They can even experience movement by having the helpers ski, still holding the pole, while the beginner holds on.
