Of Interest: Stress Fractures in Animals

Only three animal species experience stress fractures: humans, dogs (greyhounds) and racehorses. The common link in all three species is that they train for and run races.

Stress fractures are tiny cracks in a bone that are usually the result of low-grade repetitive stresses, such as running or jumping.
