Coaching: Timeout Notes

It's a coach's job to notice things that should be changed in the middle of a game. However, these observations can slip your mind in the heat of the action and you may miss out on making important points during the next timeout.

You can improve your ability to remember your observations by taking notes. Then, just before your timeout or half-time, a quick glance at your scribbles will allow you to briefly review, then prioritize the points you want to stress. These notes are also invaluable when doing a post-game analysis.

If you don't like taking your eyes off the game even for a second, have your manager sit beside you and dictate your comments to him/her.
