Administration: An Officials Exchange Provides Referees for Your Events

Administration: An Officials Exchange Provides Referees
for Your Events

Are you always short of officials to run your home competitions? Here's an idea that might help.

Offer your athletes' assistance as volunteer officials at a local university's competition. In return, ask for some of the university program's athletes to help at one of your home events.

Benefits of an Officials Exchange
The benefits are three-fold:

  1. You'll get some high-profile officials to work your event.
  2. Your athlete will meet a university team's coach and athletes, which may inspire them to work hard in order to make that team.
  3. The coach will meet your athletes, which may motivate him to recruit them for his program.

Elementary School Variation
If you're an elementary school program, you can use this exchange idea with your local high school team instead of your university.
